Our Story

It’s a personal story but one I know is relatable and reveals the true motivation behind our mission. My name is Carrie Robinson and I am the proud owner of the Studio. Here is my story…..

I loved playing with hair from a very young age but it wasn’t until my teen years that I knew I wanted to be a Hairstylist.  Whenever I was having a rough time as a teen, or when I wanted a break where I couldn’t feel guilty for doing ‘nothing’, I would make a hair appointment.  I’d look forward to that appointment from the day I booked it until the second I walked in the salon door.  As soon as I stepped inside the salon I felt looked after.  I was the focus of my Stylists’ attention and I knew once I was finished I’d feel confident and beautiful.  It was of course a boost to my mood but more importantly it reminded me how vital a little self-care was.

Sometimes the Stylist would genuinely connect with me, invest in making me look and feel amazing and other times not.  There were a few times things went south and I didn’t walk out feeling great about myself or my appearance at all.  Times where I had to stare at that bad hair service in the mirror for weeks while it grew out or while the colour faded.  Those times taught me what I didn’t want.

My visits were frequent enough that even my Mom noticed.  After a particularly rough week, I’d just finished making a hair appointment and after hanging up the phone my Mom said ‘You can’t just go get your hair done every time you have a bad day!’ That was when it clicked for me how much a visit to the salon did for me and it wasn’t all about the hair.

I wanted to make people feel the way I did when my hair service was amazing.  I wanted them to feel it every time they got their hair done and I knew in order to make that happen it was my responsibility to learn and do whatever necessary to provide as many clients as possible with that level of service.

client care commitment

Our Vision

Where do you want to go for your services? What do you want the atmosphere to be like? What expectations do you have during and after your service?

Even though our story originated from a personal experience, the concept was born from my perspective as the client.  This is exactly where our vision lies today, with you.  What you want, how you feel, how you deserve to experience your service.

Our success is dependant on how well we deliver, at every contact, during every service, our Client Care Commitment:

 Putting you first.

When you come first you are always treated with kindness and positivity.

When you come first there’s no need to worry about when your Stylist last updated their skills because it’s simply an everyday part of the job.

When you come first there are no ‘miracle’ product recommendations that lead to a bathroom full of fairy tales without the happy ending. There are tried, thoroughly tested and approved products that had to earn their place on the shelf before they could confidently be recommended to you!

When you come first you are treated with respect and honestly at all times. Professional recommendations are geared solely for your benefit, to improve your day to day experience caring for your hair.

You simply want gorgeous hair, to feel you are in good hands and to walk out loving not only how your hair looks but the feeling of confidence it inspires.

That’s not just a hair appointment, it’s an experience.

We invite you to experience beautiful

We live in an amazing community! Every year we are awed by the generosity people continually show to charities, fundraisers and events.  We’ve had the pleasure of sponsoring and/or donating to many local organizations and it is you, the client, who make it all possible!

Thank you for your support of our business.  We hope that in continuing to give back to our community we can show even a tiny bit of the gratitude we feel when you choose to support us with your business.

Here are just a few of the very special events and charities we are thrilled to be a part of!

Handbags for Hospice

The Power of the Purse! Every year we see the dedicated group of women who put together this event out do themselves.  This special event is all in support of our local hospice, Sakura House.  We are so priviledged to have a hospice in our community and the love, support and care the patients and their families receive during end of life care is nothing short of extrodinary.

We have sponsored this event from its first year in 2012, right up until the pandemic put us on hold. We are so lucky to have Sakura House in our community!

Century 21 Golden Gala

Since 2013 up until the pandemic we have been a proud sponsor of the Century 21 Golden Gala. A longtime fundraiser for the Woodstock General Hospital, the Gala has most recently turned to raising funds for organizations within our community such as Sakura House, Alzheimer Society and Easter Seals to name a few. We are so thankful to have been involved in such an important community event!

Oxford County Animal Rescue

Its no secret that animals are near and dear to our hearts so it make perfect sense for us to help in any way we could! So far we have hosted a Donation Drive, Online Painting Auction and a Social Media contest with all proceeds going directly to the Rescue!  Conveniently they also happen to be our neighbors so we absolutely take part in their annual bake sale fundraiser as well!
